Review of Rogue (2007) by Vijay M — 11 Oct 2008
A creepy horror flick that I loved! First off, it's got unbelievably beautiful cinematography. The scenes of the Australian outback are simply gorgeous -- rivals anything from The Discovery Channel.
And the shots of the various critters in the swamp are perfectly shot. The characters are well written too. Not one of them are characters that you end up hoping will die gruesomely. And it's creepy.
Damned creepy. The scenes in the cave at the end had me sitting absolutely still, rivetted to the screen, unable to make a sound for fear of attracting that croc's attention! And what a croc! This "monster" is one of the scariest I've seen in a film in a long time.
This is one visceral horror flick. There may not be buckets of blood and gore, but I came away from it feeling like I had survived my own attack with this ferocious croc. I loved it. Go see it. Preferably in the dark with the phone turned off.
Gape at the incredible scenery then scream at the croc coming right for you.
