Review of Rogue (2007) by Steve C — 24 Jun 2010
The best crocodile movie ever made? probably. This movie resembles an autistic child, for somethings it's highly intelligent, for others... not so much. Regardless, it is a better movie then Lake Placid and Primeval.
If you can overlook some frustrating, utterly nonsensical moments, then you will thoroughly enjoy this movie. It's more of a survival film then a croc film. That is until the end of course where it turns into a heroic man vs.
nature battle. As far as the acting, it's superior on every level compared to other "croc" films. One problem, however, is that for the first half of the film, Sam worthington's character, who your supposed to hate is more likable then the main actor.
Michael Vartan plays a writer for a travel magazine, but he hates animals and the outdoors??? A little weird and implausible, but again can be overlooked. The outcome is a great survival film, with good acting, and great looking crocodile shots.
If you like croc movies then see this one.
