Review of Rogue (2007) by Justin S — 29 Dec 2011
Better than most horror movies based on giant animals, but still lacking any real excitement. I found myself more bored than thrilled with many of the scenes dragging on and several characters making frustratingly bad decisions.
Many of the characters were provided with interesting back stories that are made known through brief actions and statements about their past, but I found myself wishing the movie had gone into these aspects more and just forgotten about the giant croc all together.
In the end the film plays out much as expected and there is nothing to really warrant me feeling positive about this film. It seems wrong to show this as having a 100%, especially considering there are significantly better movies with a similar premise (this may hurt my credibility but I still think Deep Blue Sea is one of the best of this genre).
Anyways, I figured with the 100% rating showing (I guess due to not enough ratings by critics?) I would give this movie the lengthy review it deserves. It's not bad, but it's not great.
