Review of Rogue (2007) by John F — 09 Sep 2012
Best killer crocodile movie since Lake Placid! It's very simple, but everything is done right, the crocodile is a damn realistic CGI creation and is fairly scary... this goes without saying that this is THE scariest Crocodile film out there... simply because there hasn't been many attempts at being scary!
The film builds the tension very well and affectively, strong suspense and some serious jump-scares all leading up to an awesomely intense climax... Okay, that's a bit excessive, I don't wanna over hype it, but it's all fairly intense, I promise!
Another thing Director/writer Greg McLean did well with, is making the character's likable... why is that so rare in movies nowadays? It helps making the movie more gripping and here it had me just hoping for some characters would make it out, that's always a good sign!
SO, thanks to skillful directing, beautiful scenery, a fearsome crocodile, a good cast and a nicely written out film (Despite a few moments of uneven pacing), this is a croc film not to be missed! Recommended.
