Review of Roger Dodger (2002) by Alex M — 23 Apr 2008

Cambell Scott is awesome as the chauvanistic womanizing uncle of Nick. Nicknamed "Roger Dodger", it's by no surprise why he is named that. All throughout the movie, you learn more and more how low and depraved he is when it comes to women.

Even better is when his 16 yr old nephew comes to see him one day, and he takes him under his "wing" to teach him a thing or two about scoring chicks. It's really hilarious seeing suave and smart Roger trying to explain the complexities of women to his nephew, while we know how pathetic and bad with the women.

The last portion of the movie is the best part when Roger takes his nephew to level "fail safe", for the dramatic finale. Even better is the end. lol Great acting by Campbell Scott and Jesse Eisenberg(who kept reminding me of Michael Cera in this role) I don't see whats so depressing about this movie, it's just a good character study of a sad womanizer, with lots of good dialogue and acting and humor.

the music was nice and fresh too.
