Review of Roger Dodger (2002) by Matt K — 01 Jul 2009

I really liked a lot of this movie. The script is really good and all the performances are great. The shooting style nearly ruined it for me. It was either too close or too shakey. This is just a dramedy, there is no need for it to have a cinema-verite documentary style.

It seemed as if they were shaking the cameras on purpose, if it was just regular handheld it would have been fine. But the movie is so good, that the terrible cinematography was powerless to ruin it.
