Review of Roger & Me (1989) by Chris Z — 11 Oct 2009
The original. And still a classic. Very funny, and some awesome AWESOME characters. Just more evidence on my growing pile of evidence that real-life people are infinitely crazier, more fascinating, and amazing than any made-up fictional character you could possibly imagine.
Detective Fred. The rabbit-skinning lady. Gosh, she's got what's probably one of the greatest scenes in the history of film! Her and her cute little rabbits. And goes right out to the yard with a big metal pipe and WHACK right on the head, the strings it up and starts skinning and cleaning it with a pocket knife while having a chat with Michael Moore about her economic plight and her rabbits.
Absolutely hilarious! An entertaining documentary about a horribly depressing situation that really hasn't changed for the better in the 20 years since it came out. I applaud Michael Moore, and this is the original and still a classic film, and very funny.
I laughed more at this one than Shaun of the Dead.
