Review of Rodan (1956) by 5 4 — 08 Jan 2010

Ah, a another classic Japanese Sci-fi film "Rodan". It had it all flying monsters,giant instects, devastating destruction and at least six figure death toll for the whole family to enjoy that's what a giant monster film is all about I'm I right? Now this is probably one of my favorite classic Sci-fi films it was like watching the godzilla of the skies and considering the man who directed this also wrote Godzilla I would expect nothing less of sheer awesomeness.

Is that a word? Who cares it is now. Probably the only isssues I have with american dubbed version of this film is the fact that they cut down on certain scenes, the voice dubbing is a little sloppy and the title it was called Rodan yet there were two of them in the film shouldn't it then be called "Rodans"?I know that was a nit pick and I apologize for that as the Nostalgia Critic put it in his Top 11 Fuck ups I was being a "Douche McNitPick" aside from that this is a very nice little film oh and before I forget the ending to this I felt was a little sudden I mean the military destroys the two rodans by causing a volcanoe to erupt and burn the creatures to death but by that logic shouldn't missles and bullets worked just as well? Now the effects in this film aren't half bad considering the time period this film was made in and the story has another enviromental message similar to that of Godzilla's about how mining for fossil fuels can have an negitive impact on our lives.

..yeah two colossal flying lizards that sounds pretty fucking bad so morale is don't fuck with mother nature when she's on her period run to the nearest fall out shelter and kiss your ass goodbye because when she's angry she'll pull shit like this on you with giant monsters destroying your home.

..wait I littered while driving a Hummer the other day...BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!...giant footsteps this can't be good...ROAR!CRASH!AHHH!!!...OH MY GOD, OH MY GOD I'LL NEVER LITTER AGAIN or drive a Hummer I'll get a smart car I PROMISE JUST DON'T EAT ME!!!.

..Okay, okay Godzilla let me off with a warning this time he only crushed half my house and drank all the water in my pool...Now where was I oh yes now the technocolor used in this film could have been a little better I personally would have liked it better in black and white because it would have made the cretures in this film a little more realistic and not just some stunt men in costumes or some cheap modles but hey this film is one of the classics of Sci-fi like all the other cheesey sci-fi films of the day and a I love it to death hell I wish some of todays film crews would put half as much effort in to making films as these guys did with such limited special effects and budget it's called effort hollywood look it up!I'm The Inglourious Critic I give movies the response they deserve goodnight and enjoy the show.

Now before I end tonight let me just say one thing about the smart car any man who drives a car so small that it looks like another car shit it out means one of two things either he lost a bet or he has the biggest pair of balls the world has ever known because I know any self respecting man would never driver something that shitty.
