Review of Rocky V (1990) by Paul C — 15 Aug 2015
Whoever wrote this synopsis for Flixter has never seen the movie. He did not train Rocky Jr. and most definitely did not have a street brawl with his own son. He trained and fought Tommy "The Machine" Gunn, and a promoter (not a trainer) facilitated the demise of their partnership.
That being said, this movie supports the beloved franchise with a few reasons (spoilers):
1. The flashback speech with Micky was a golden moment in the saga. If you're a fan of the series this moment will give you goosebumps.
2. The bar scene in which Pauly gets punched by Gunn, leading to Rocky's best line of the film, "my ring's outside.
At this point in the review I can't even see what I'm typing due to the terrible Flixter app interface.
There were more great moments from this film, and a lot more crappy ones. Just watch it and ignore this POS synopsis.
