Review of Rocky V (1990) by Jesse B — 16 Jul 2012
I dont care what anyone else says, Rocky 5 has heart and strong values. It does really well to show how great a character Rocky is.
Although sometimes misguided, there's alot of emotion tied into this movie that hits deep and hits hard. For instance; Rocky's bond with his son serves as the foundation for his happiness in the future, and helps him realise he doesn't need to be in the spotlight or in the ring , because his loving family is what matters most, and by the end of the movie you feel that satisfaction and peace of mind.
There couldn't possibly be a better ending to the series than the final scene.
I wish alot of the negative response to this film would dissappear. I liked just about everything they put into this.
The only thing I truly missed was the acting talents of Carl Weathers, but newcomers Tommy Morrison and Sage Stallone were fantastic, there was even a classic scene with the legend Burgess Meredith, that was just unforgettable.
Even though Rocky 5 certainly isn't the best of the series it remains one of my favorites.
