Review of Rocky V (1990) by Galaxy Quest P — 09 Sep 2012
Kind of the "jump the shark" on the Rocky series, it lacked a lot of direction and didn't present a lot of effort or heart. It tried to create the tension and family angle this time with Robert the son instead of Adrian, but it did not use the best angles to achieve a great connection, although it tried the jealousy angle with Tommy Gunn.
The fight at the end seemed a little bit silly as a street fight and more of a reason for Rocky to prevail and not in a ring this time rather than a good direction. The financial angle at the beginning seemed to have a weaker story to carry the film, but it ended up disappearing altogether come the time Tommy came into the film.
