Review of Rocky IV (1985) by Dave L — 05 Apr 2011
The Rocky series, at this point, becomes completely goofy. The films now are almost an assemblage of music video clips of Sylvester Stallone working out. "Hearts on Fire" is played one too many times in this installment.
Rocky fights Drago (Dolph Lundgren) after the Russian brutally kills Apollo Creed in a Las Vegas ring (this was after a James Brown music number). Obviously, this becomes a big statement about the end of the Cold war.
The ending fight in Russia is exciting but Rocky's speech at the end is beyond corny.
