Review of Rocky IV (1985) by Steve B — 05 Jun 2011
As the best of the 'Rocky' movies dies down in my opinion another idea was thought of in this movie and was a pitiful excuse to make a movie with a political moral or point. The same sort of layout and format that worked for the first three is used again but doesn't manage to pull off so convincingly this time.
Rocky takes some punishment from the power and action of Drago with some great fighting sequences and hard hits, but apart from some sweat and swelling make up, Rocky seems well enough to get his political message across where as in the earlier movies you really felt the hits and sympathised for his pain and end state.
In this movie they've almost branded him as some sort of 'superhero' that isn't human!
