The movies definitely start showing some wear here. The movie starts with the death of Apollo which is a representation of cockiness kills and knowing when your out of your prime.
From there Rocky travels and trains in Russia by running, chopping wood and yelling...all boxing essentials. Drago is his enemy this time and he is a product of Russia bred to be the best.
The movie is just comical at times. The fight scenes drastically improve, but the movie puts Rocky a bit out of character. A person who usually shrugs off people that insult him gets do angry and does everything he does in this film for revenge. I found it took away a bit. There's a theme of Russia vs. The USA very obviously done. It ends with one of the corniest scenes ever.
Overall, it's still better than the atrocious sequel that followed...give this one a rent.
