Review of Rocky IV (1985) by Peter N — 08 Aug 2012
Rocky IV is more of the same, but this time it's a little more personal. Included among the highlights of the film are the tragic death of Apollo Creed (you really feel it), Rocky's epic ghetto training in the snowy mountains of Russia, and the triumph over the Soviet Union that truly makes you proud to be an American.
Other than that, the formula is the exact same as the previous entries. For fans of the series, it's definitely a solid entry (the last of its era), and would have been a satisfying conclusion to the series.
In fact, I never even bothered to see the 5th film. I'm not a big enough fan of the series as a whole to go out and buy the DVD collection, but I almost always watch it when it's on TV.
