Review of Rocky IV (1985) by Brandon W — 30 Dec 2014
Rocky 4 is a good movie, but getting to the point of being stale here. It has more silly moments than the third movie, and it's short of character development and is more focused on the training and fight scenes which kinda missed the point of what made the first Rocky movie such a masterpiece.
The acting is still great though, however, I don't really understand why Dolph Lundgren is praised in this. He looks intimidated, but that's all he does and barely have any lines to say. His character is more developed than Clubber Lang which I'll give it that, but wasn't enough to be as memorable as Apollo Creed.
The fights are still just as great as the other Rocky films, but it is getting to the point of being predictable. Good film, but even more of a step backward than the other films were.
