Review of Rocky IV (1985) by Still Johanna G — 22 Nov 2009
History can attribute the fall of communism and the Soviet Union to 3 people: Ronald Regan, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Rocky Balboa. When the movie climaxes, and Rocky knocks out that freedom-hating, blue-blooded, raging-atheist Ivan Drago, and the entire arena including the Politburo sees the error of their communist ways, we all know that the logical next step is the fall of the Berlin Wall. Of course this movie was made in 1985 and the Berlin Wall didn't fall until 1989 or something but the large time gap can be attributed to the lack of infrastructure and telephones in 2nd world countries.
One of the better films of the franchise- much of this film's success I believe was also due to its soundtrack.
