Review of Rocky IV (1985) by Renato C — 10 Apr 2011
Survivor: Rocky IV, the soundtrack that make our hearts burn.
Rocky VI, as the name says, is the fourth film in the Rocky saga. After accepting a challenge from a foreigner Apollo Creed, embodied by Carl Weathers, is Killed by Ivan Drago, which is played by Dolph Lundgreen, the villain of this production. After challenging Balboa's best friend, the giant russian goes after the champion.
The plot is much like the other films in Rocky saga, apart from the new villain whose is a Cold War boxing machine. There were few good songs in the previous movies. Rocky IV, in the other hand, has the best selection of the saga, with three songs from Survivor, including the greatest success of Rocky, if not of all soundtracks ever made, Eye of the Tiger. There's also the great instrumental theme songs made by Vince DiCola, Heart's On Fire performed by John Cafferty, Living In America sang by James Brown, only to mention a few.
The sound track of Rocky IV gives a taste of the eighties music, and is considered cult nowadays.
