Review of Rocky III (1982) by Brittany G — 23 May 2009
Rocky carries on with Rocky III, here we go. I am not afraid to say, I cried a little when Mickey died.
This sequel furthers the theory that Rocky is clearly deteriorating with each go at it, although love, I have to admit is making a comeback. Mickie's death really jump starts that and leads to a more intimate view of Rocky and Adriane's love. It also leads to a new love founded at Apollo Creeds own will. A man that once hated Rocky For his strength and persistence has grown to accept him as not just another opponent to bash in to the ground (or not, teehee.) Apollo sees Rocky as a worthy adversary as he offers to help him train just as Mickey had once done.
The repetitiveness of Rocky's rises and falls are a little boring at this point but are masked by a half decent plot (credible if I do say so my self.) and the awesome comeback of love and relationship weaved through th plot.
When on its own, an okay movie. Compared to Rocky I and Rocky Balboa, Rocky III is at best mediocre.
