Review of Rocky III (1982) by Dimitri T — 20 Dec 2010
Strictly "unadultered" testosterone entertainment. As Creed affirms it, Rocky gets "civilized". It is actually very ironic to see how the character is exploited and the film makes a mild reference towards consummerism during the first 10 minutes. Where is the irony, you say? It happened in real life. Rocky is a damn patriotic icon. If Stallone is in it, it gets high ratings from fans. I can't blame them... entirely. Amazing performance from Mr. T. Hey, a performance is a performance, no matter how much the clichéd screenplay tries to affect that!
