I have to say Rocky III caught me with my pants down. I've watched this movie several times as kid, again as a teenager and once again as young adult. It felt more shittier and dated after every time. Now than I watched it, at 32, I've changed my mind. Rocky III is not a deep movie. It's not a great movie either, but hell: It's goddamn entertaining, hilarious and most of all: So honestly EIGHTEES (80's). This movie is so openly 80's I didn't even think is was possible!

I mean, come on. Hulk Hogan and Mr. T in the same movie? No way this can NOT be good! Adrian is a statist, Paulie drunk the whole time and Mickey has no signifigant role, cause he dies. There is absolutely nothing ambitious acting/drama wise in this movie. But that don't matter, 'cause Stallone is not trying to make drama. This is crazy and brainless 80's action in it's purest form in vein of Top Gun and Commando (Not quite that good unfortunently. Otherwise this would have been a masterpiece). Becides, by 1982, it's ahead of it's time.

Best thing is certainly Mr. T as Clubber Lang. Oh man is he bad ass! And funny at the same time. And what in great physical shape was he in 1982! T pretty much carries the whole thing through and makes Rocky look like a whiny pussy. Yap, Carl Weathers is good too, but T totally steals the show. Oh, how badly I wished he'd beat Rocky's white ass again in the end! But.. "Just between you and me: Sly wins this one".

What a shame.
