Review of Rocky III (1982) by Tristan M — 25 Jul 2015
Yet another great movie starring Stallone as our favourite Rocky. The whole first half of the movie focuses on him being with his girlfriend and now wife, their struggle to get him a job with and pay in general, even though he buys a house, car, and all sorts of fancy things they don't need or really can afford.
His past enemy, Apollo Creed chooses to train him, and after Rocky loses his existing trainer he's known all his life, Rocky he's him more than ever. The first fight goes badly for Rocky, and he loses the title, but in the final fight we have been waiting for, Rocky KOs his opponent.
It sets us up for more movies with Apollo at his side. It's overall a great movie, focuses on the fighting and training more than the second one, and also the first I think. It earns the same rating and success as the others, with great acting, script and plot just as the others.
Good movie, but more downhill from here.
