Review of Rocky II (1979) by Anthony G — 12 May 2018
This sequel is a much darker film than Rocky and uses every trick in the book to get you to root for the underdog once again. Luckily the payoff is spectacular, a 30 min plus boxing match that goes back and forth and will have you on the edge of your seat, again.
Although never reaching the heights of Rocky this is a terrific sequel and keeps the gritty realism of a down on his luck boxer with one last shot its prime focus.
