Review of Rocky II (1979) by Jagt P — 14 Jun 2013
Rocky II, what can I say about this movie? It's equally as good as the first film in it's own way and at times dare I say it,, better than the first movie. The story takes place after the first film and Apollo Creed played by Carl Weathers is mad because Rocky Balboa played y Sylvester Stallone got lucky and won by a split decision.
Apollo challenges Rocky to another match after Rocky plans to retire and work in a meat factory, get married to Adrian played by Talia Shire and give birth to a son named Robert "Rocky" Balboa Jr.
. When Adrian tells Rocky to actually win the match this time no matter what it takes to compete against Apollo and beat him, Rocky's trainer Mickey played by Burgess Meredith trains him all the way to become the true champion.
The story is as strong, patriotic and as emotional as the first movie thanks to the writing Stallone gives to this movie which he also does to all of the movies in this series. The direction is well enough and the performances are just great! Rocky II gets a decent 10/10.
