Review of Rocky Balboa (2006) by Private U — 11 Oct 2014
I just re-watched the entire Rocky series, minus Rocky V (really what's the point) and I have to say that Rocky Balboa is a fitting bookend to the series and surprisingly good fllm. While I loved rocky III and IV for their 80's melodramastery, not to mention their superior soundtracks, Balboa has more in common with the original movie and I dare say, I think is executed better.
This iteration of Rocky hits all the old themes, but with more subtly and less cheese. The final fight was done very well and I have to admit I got a little teary eyed in the final minutes. Well done Mr.
Stallone, now please stop making "Expendibles" movies and never make another Rambo.
