Review of Rocky Balboa (2006) by Ewee C — 29 Dec 2010
Rocky Balboa packs a lot of blue collar heart and determination into it's 1 hour and 41 minutes, but it still just feels like an unnecessary sequel with a ridiculous plot. Rocky, now in his mid-fifities, is shown to beat the current heavyweight boxing champ in a computer simulation.
This goads the champ to challenge Rocky to an exhibition fight, a challenge which he can't refuse. Not a horrible movie, but it just felt like Stallone was milking the Rocky franchise for one final payoff.
Personally, I would've rather seen Rocky be the trainer, not the fighter, and hand the reins over to a new generation.
