Review of Rocky Balboa (2006) by Kenneth P — 07 Feb 2014
Sylvester Stallone takes his character, and his franchise, to their roots, back when both had heart, soul, and the only option is to improve upon themselves. We find a down and out Rocky mourning the loss of his wife, his family situation, and bankrupt in terms of money and self esteem.
Rocky, again, facing the fight of his life, but this time not for glory, or money, but personal well being. I must admit, the film was a surprise, and truly shows that Stallone, when challenged, is an extraordinary story teller.
Easily the second best Rocky.
