Review of Rocky (1976) by Stephen Z — 12 Jul 2015
There is arguably nothing more inspiring than the American Dream. And when it comes to inspiring movies, there are arguably none more inspiring than "Rocky". The story of this down-on-his-luck boxer's pursuit of a better life is a heart-warming story, filled with love, redemption, and feel-good moments.
The film's real triumph is the winning performance of Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa. His ability to make the character a likeable everyman that anyone can relate to will win you over. For folks who aren't in to sports movies, fear not. "Rocky" isn't really about boxing. It's about determination, believing in yourself, and the human spirit. "Rocky" is a really inspiring film. It is THE underdog story. And who doesn't love an underdog.
