Rocky's reputation is slightly flattering. Even in 1977 it won the Best Picture Oscar ahead of films like Network and Taxi Driver. That is baffling enough but Sly Stallone Best Actor nominee? There is barely any drama outside the boxing ring and due to the sheerfamiliarity of the film the action inside the ring holds little surprise even to a newcomer.
Rocky is a decent diversion but I'm sure that if Oscar could have his time again he would choose differently.
