Review of Rocky (1976) by Byron B — 02 Sep 2013
I didn't expect to like it that much, but I was caught up in the rise of the underdog boxer Rocky. It is not just about boxing, it is about the characters. After we see the way Rocky has been treated it is thrilling to see him train and climb those steps triumphantly.
His relationship with Adrian (Shire) is awkward through most of the movie. Still this success story, this wish fulfillment, is a good little movie from Stallone when he was fresh out of tiny budgeted indie flicks and not yet a big action star.
