First of all, the users that criticize this movie (like Jennifer Xu) are morons. What these people "who watch a lot of sports movies" fail to understand is that this movie came out in 1976, way before any of the movies they are even referencing came out.

That's right- what you find so cliche is actually groundbreaking because it was the first to do it. This movie essentially created the genre. Do these morons know that this was the first movie to use a steadicam? Of course not- I doubt they even know what that is.

There is really nothing that I can say about the movie that has not been said a million times before: we all know that it's brilliant, engaging, deep, inspiring, and innovative. What I can say is that the people criticizing this movie are idiots.

I am sure they would also criticize Die Hard for being too much like Under Siege 2, or Birth of a Nation for having too many closeups and flashacks. I feel stupid for having read their "reviews.".
