You're going to eat lightening and you're going to crap thunder.

Rocky Balboa is a small time amateur fighter with fifty amateur fights with about thirty wins and twenty losses. Apollo Creed, heavy weight champion of the world, wants to put on an Independence Day show in Philadelphia and give an amateur a shot at the title. Rocky is in the process of falling in love when this fight falls in his lap. This fight will change his life forever and help him form an amazing bond.

"Why do you want to fight?".

"Because I can't sing and dance.".

John Avildsen, director of Karate Kid 1-3, The Power of One, 8 Seconds, Happy New Year, Foreplay, Joe, Okay Bill, and Slow Dancing in the Big City, delivers Rocky. The storyline for this picture is amazing, well written, and brilliantly executed. The script fits the characters perfectly and the plot comes together well. The cast includes Sylvester Stallone (writer of this film), Talia Shire, Burgess Meredith, Thayer David, and Carl Weathers.

"Your nose is broke.".

"How does it look?".

"It's an improvement.".

These were all recently added to Netflix online and I was so excited to watch these for the first time again in a long time (I may purchase these when the new Creed movie comes out and it's in one set). I loved these movies while I was kid and still find myself excited and emotionally drained at the end of this movie. I love this picture and consider it an all time classic.

"Cut me, Mick!".

Grade: A+.
