Review of Rocky (1976) by Guido S — 26 Nov 2015
One of the great rags to riches stories of all time. Rocky is a boxer who never really hit it big and is working as the muscle for a loan shark which causes a rift with his trainer. Eventually, Apollo wants to challenge him after his opponent can't fight and he needs a quick replacement.
A solid movie to show what heart and determination can do. The whole first date scene with Adrian is highly questionable is about the closest thing to rape. That scene alone doesn't derail the film, but definitely something to perhaps skip on future viewings as it is incredibly uncomfortable.
Alas, one of the best sports movies ever made.
