Unbelievably effective still, for a movie made 40 years ago. So many gritty hallmarks of '70s cinema meet a completely offbeat premise that isn't afraid to mix meat bag street life with lofty, almost twee romanticism.
Sad it took me so long to watch this, given my love for Rocky IV, Rocky V (ironically - Tommy Gunn baby!) and Creed.
