Review of RocknRolla (2008) by Dave I — 05 Jan 2012
As entertaining as a Ritchie can be. Rock'n'Rolla is a replay of Snatch, but with less likable characters, less witty and funny dialogues, and that, if only because of the lack of novelty of it.
The main characters (Butler=Statham, Wilkinson=Ford) are carbon copies of Snatch's. More or less freshness is brought by characters like the wild card "Johnny Quid" (who could somewhat be likened to Brad Pitt's pikey), the accountant, one of the only female characters of the film, and Mark Strong as the mob boss' second-in-command.
Anyhow, as stated before, entertaining.
