Review of RocknRolla (2008) by Christian C — 23 Feb 2010
Hey I love the style, and don't say it's over. After eight years, Guy Ritchie is back again in this genre, the style is the same but the story and the situation is different. As you can see, he uses a lot of names with different characteristics and they had their own groups, and they are all related with each other but they don't realize it.
I can't imagine Jason Statham being the leading character in this film, because it would be unexciting to see him play the same old character that he's been playing in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch.
This adrenaline-pumping thriller is purely enjoyable. Guy Ritchie cannot be bettered in his own style. I'm glad that he is back, and I'm waiting for The Real RocknRolla. This is one perfect example of a controlled comedy thriller, not too slow and not too fast but still so cool.
And there's always a surprise at the end.
