Review of Rocket Science (2007) by Adam B — 02 Apr 2008
There are moments in the film that catch the viewer off guard, and nothing plays out in the way that American teen movies usually do. This is what is particularly enduring about this film.
I never felt that I could relate to films such as 'American Pie' when I was a teenager, but Rocket Science has a great lead character in Hal Hefner, because every teenager feels awkward and struggles to find their place in the world. Throw Hals stutter into the equation, and send him to debate for the affections of a girl, and you just have a great comedy.
Its humour develops slowly for the first twenty minutes. When it gets going though, Rocket Science is a great Indie movie and I recommend it too any movie lover out there.
