Review of Rocket Science (2007) by Gregory W — 22 Mar 2011
My favorite teen film. It doesn't fall into cliches and is quirky at times, but it's the honesty of how depressing high school can be. Hal struggles with a stutter and falls in love with a girl who isn't in his league.
In the end he doesn't get the girl and doesn't win. He does, however, come away from the experience with the knowledge that life can never be perfect. Not even for the overachievers in the debate department.
It's a tough film, but so is high school if you were a loser.
