Review of Rocket Science (2007) by Robert C — 19 Apr 2008
I loved this film. It's not RUSHMORE, DONNIE DARKO, etc. It's totally something else. Just the right amount of quirk and heartbreak and the acting is great. And it has the perfect kind of neither happy nor sad, but pretty realistic ending.
The first narrative feature by the director of SPELLBOUND. I love this movie. The depiction of SUBURBIA is never made shameful like in WELCOME TO THE DOLLHOUSE. This is the suburbs many of us are from.
It's real and it's just as much dreary as it is hopeful that you'll escape it one day, but you won't escape the problems you'll always have. Check out this movie, friends.
