Review of Rock the Kasbah (2015) by Mark C — 22 Oct 2015
Let's just start by saying Bill Murray is a very talented comedian, He was in a lot of fun films, Very funny actor. But this movie is low. You know when Tom Hanks tried to make a comeback in Larry Crowne? But it failed....This is the same thing! Bill Murray trying to make a comeback to the big screen.
This film is awfully misguided, It seems like it was gonna be a hit, So much build up to this unfunny film. This sure has to be one of Bill Murray's lowest films, It's terrible.
Let's get into some details? The movie starts out to be mildly funny. Maybe a tickle or two, But no real laughs here. In the near middle of this film I felt like things were being pushed...A little too soon.
The film goes from being not that funny to offensive. Really offensive. And also once the mid-film hits you start to see the cliche's that this lame film has to offer.
Once the end hits i'm glad to lazy movie is almost over. And the ending is cliche and just plain cheesy. I saw no smarts in this film, Wouldn't you expect more from comedian Bill Murray? Levinson has made some good films but this one is sure not one of them...Willis and Hudson also did not give a good performance...It needs a smarter scripts, An edge, It's awfully misguided. The movie seemed rushed and it needed a lot of work. Complete waste. Let's hope Murray and Levinson never go this low in a comedy again.
