This movie was absurd. I'll begin with the fact that every single trite and overused transition turns up in the film. From the use of the fast motion stage setup to the montage of food cooking and toast popping to signify the passing of the morning/breakfast to the fast motion sun rising to signify the beginning of a new day.

I hate that overused garbage. I was actually able to predict the entire movie as it was playing. The story is weak and the monologues are even weaker. The relationship between Aniston and Wahlberg is totally not believable and doesn't make the viewer feel anything.

I wanted her long, drawn out speeches to him to end simply because I didn't care. The music was also terrible. An album called Lubricator? That made me laugh out loud. The lyrics of the "songs" if you can even call them that, seemed to be thought up on the fly.

They were terrible. The premise of the movie was different, a young man getting to play music with his idols, but it was so poorly handled by cast and crew that it made for unintentional laughs. The washed up drummer who was supposed to be this serious symbol of what happens when the rock star life sucks you in for decades becomes a total and complete joke.

The one scene where the drummer is on the oxygen machine and hes smoking a cigarette at the same time made me laugh out loud. The sad thing is, this isn't a comedy, its labeled "drama" at blockbuster.

I don't recommend this at all. Not even if you want to laugh, maybe if you want to cry your eyes out listening to "Steel Dragon" tunes.
