Review of Rock School (2005) by John E — 31 Jul 2007
Reasonably interesting documentary about about an actual rock school in Philadelphia. Make your own mind up about the pedagogy employed, instilling fear in these kids has certainly got some results. I don't much care for Paul Green, the way he enforces his taste is somewhat fascist and he is prone to irrational shouting and annoying 'zaniness'.
I've no doubt that there are numerous rock-school drop outs, something that's pretty much ignored in this documentary.
