Review of Rock, Rock, Rock! (1956) by Dave S — 12 May 2014
Has acting and production values on par with the average industrial film of that era, with a subplot about fiscal responsibility to boot. But the real reason to see this is for the music - and it *does* rock, in that "Paul and Paula" kind of way.
At least they gave Connie Francis prominent billing in the credits for dubbing Tuesday Weld's singing voice - Francis is so distinctive, it really wouldn't have fooled anyone. Also, at one point Weld sits down to watch an American Bandstand style program and we get to see it for about 20 minutes or so, 5 or 6 songs in a row with only minimal reaction shots.
Hilarious.
