Really bad. The songs were done well and really nicely arranged. The choreography emulated the theatre musical style well, but that can't save this awful film from tanking. The story and script are so weak.
The acting is stale from a cast that should have and could have delivered better. The direction and style of the film are what make it so bad. Rock of Ages tried to be a Chicago meets Hairspray film musical and in that lack of its own identity makes it a very strange and boring movie.
The rock gods are jeering at this failure called Rock of Ages.
