It was almost not S***. In the spirit of musicals like "Moulin Rouge" which capitalize on pop music covers by celebrities in fabulous costumes and sets from a romanticized version of the past, "Rock of Ages" is entertaining at best, but completely cliched, formulaic, lame, edited in a way that makes the pacing feel like a 4 hour film at its worst.
It is fun and interesting in a few spots but ultimately shallow throughout.
