A musical based around the tracklist of an 80s Power Ballad compilation (including, yes, the long outplayed "Don't Stop Believing") is exactly as cheap and forgettable as it sounds. However, the chance to see some great actors like Alec Baldwin and Bryan Cranston let loose will get you through the two hour running time (horrifyingly, there's an extended edition out there). Unfortunately these parts are sidelined by the central "plot" involving youngsters Sherrie and Drew, played blandly by Julianne Hough and Diego Boneta.

There's no denying the songs are all classics, though. You'll probably be wanting to invest in one of those Power Ballad CDs after you've watched this. You'll get more replay value out of it, that's for sure.
