The critics can suck it, this movie was great. Musicals get a pass on not having to have as much plot or profound impact as other movies, sometimes it's enough to just be entertained and joyous, and this delivers on that.
The acting is great, and seriously, <3 Alec Baldwin/Russell Brand pairing. That in and of itself was 5 star brilliance, the rest was bonus fun.
