Review of Rock of Ages (2012) by Sarah S — 15 Apr 2015

Okay, I see this movie may have a lot of bad reviews, however I do disagree. I am a bit of a movie buff growing up with a complete movie buff of a dad and guess what? That means I usually have good taste in movies.

I thought the plot was hilarious and interesting, it was easy to connect with many of the characters, and the music was amazing. Not only was the selection impeccable but the execution worked no matter what song, whether it be heartwarming, romantic, sad, or even just funny.

I am one of those who lives and breathes 80's music and so, you'd expect I'd think they butchered perfectly great songs, but to be completely honest I think the artists did an amazing job.

I actually just listen to the soundtrack recreationally. So guess what, the plot can be a little odd and the characters are eclectic and quirky but if you're not a complete stiff who can't loosen up and have a laugh or someone who doesn't enjoy good music, I don't see why you wouldn't at least tolerate this movie, if not love it.
