Review of Rock of Ages (2012) by Kyle C — 26 Jul 2015
HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm gonna be singing the songs in this for a while. What a Fantastic Movie, the music went perfect with this, the entire cast (Yes, even Tom Cruise) did their own singing and they all sounded great.
The story was interesting as well, set around a singer who wants to make it big, and a singer who is bigger than everyone and everything, just great storytelling. The all 80's soundtrack is what takes front and center here, from Pat Benatar to Poison, Bon Jovi to Warrant, Foreigner to REO Speedwagon, Journey to Twisted Sister and so on, and so on.
I guarantee that everyone will know almost (if not every) song in this movie and will be bopping there head along with it. If I had to find a flaw, I can think of 2, Catherine Zeta-Jones' overacting in some spots, and Paul Giamatti's hair and mustache, but I won't let that stand in the way of one of the most entertaining movies that I have seen in years.
HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for 80's music lovers, movie lovers, Tom Cruise fans and pretty much everyone.
