Review of Rock 'n' Roll High School (1979) by Ryan V — 28 Feb 2012
Produced by schlock baron Roger Corman, Rock n' Roll High School is a willfully stupid cult movie about some teenagers rebelling against the prudish faculty of their school. This story is told with a horde of cornball sight gags, but some of them are so awful that I couldn't help but laugh out loud.
What made me enjoy this movie, however, was the use of the Ramones. I absolutely love their music and I found this ridiculous picture to be an effective venue for Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, and Marky to strut their stuff.
People who aren't into The Ramones, on the other hand, will likely find this feature to be a watered down knock-off of Animal House.
